Joseph Maniaci, who co-founded American Vintage Homes with his brother Jerry, and Cherry Creek Building with Richard Spehar, notes, "Our companies are intensely involved in both the development and construction of our communities. Our father started out as a finish carpenter before founding a building business, and he passed his concern for care and detail in construction on to Jerry and I while we were growing up. So we believe in establishing a well defined identity in our communities, and having control over the quality that we are offering to our customers."
Following in their father's footsteps, Leonard Maniaci of LMC, Joe and Jerry started American Vintage Homes in 1988. As their company's reputation for building homes of quality and value grew, Joe also joined forces with Richard Spehar in 1998 and established Cherry Creek Building (now named Mondrian Properties). As the two firms were guided by the same philosophies of thoughtful design, expert workmanship and personalized customer service, they decided to merge operations in 2000 for the Harrington Park project.

Richard Spehar states, "We have taken the umbrella philosophies that run through American Vintage Homes and Cherry Creek Building and brought them together under the Harrington Park name. We are a builder that listens to our customers and will go the extra mile to give them what they want in a home. We do not take a production approach to building. Even in communities where we are offering a specific selection of floor plans, we treat each home as a custom home."
To assist customers in making design and selection decisions for their new residence, the Harrington Park team has established an extensive product library in their showroom. Leonard Krass, the company's talented and highly experienced interior designer, is at hand to guide customers through the exciting process of personalizing their new home.

Richard Spehar notes, "Leonard and our sales staff, led by Sahar Fakhouri, are very knowledgeable concerning the wide range of options available to our customers. While they are well versed in current trends, we also encourage timeless ideas and classic styles that won't become dated a few years down the road. Our customers and our staff develop a relationship that grows throughout the design and construction process. Our employees are an essential part of our success, and we all have a willingness to learn and evolve as the industry changes over time. Building is something we all enjoy doing."

Joe Maniaci states, "We are also building elegant single-family residences in the Troy area at Hunnington Estates and Shady Creek. Homes start in the 3,000-square-foot range, with walk-out and daylight basement sites available at Shady Creek. We are planning two communities that are scheduled to open fall 2003. A single-family home community called River Bend is located on Long Lake Road in Troy, River Bend is in a park-like setting, surrounded by a nature preserve with wetlands and woodlands. The second community is Silver Birch, which will feature 36 condominiums locates on Schoenherr Road near 22 Mile Road in Shelby Township."
Each community reflects the same dedication to individualized customer care the company has built their reputation on. Jerry states, "This is a family business, and building a relationship of trust is crucial to us. So we have established long-standing associations with the subcontractors who build our homes. Some have been with us since Joe and I were working with our father many years ago. We have handpicked our subcontractors, and they know what we expect in the quality of homes and share our philosophy of working closely with our customers to personalize their homes."

The synergy of the homebuilding team combines experience, skill, and a genuine concern for creating exciting new living spaces designed to stand the test of time. Many of the company's new customers learn about them through referrals from family or friends, a testament to the satisfaction and trust established while building their own home.
Richard Spehar states, "We understand we are in the service business, and that our customers are making one of the biggest financial and emotional decisions of their lives. If people remember a company over the years, and come back to them or refer their family and friends, obviously the relationship was a good one. As a builder, we learn a lot about our customers during the construction process and they learn a lot about us. They also discover that even after they move into their new home, if a question or concern arises, we are still here for them."
